Sh. Salman Bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort Bahrain "Sh. Salman Bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort is one of the significant historical forts of Bahrain. It is characterized by its strategic position, as it was built over a cliff in order to have control over the flat desert between the two cities of eastern and western Riffa.
See the light at Arad Fort: This 15th century fort was built in typical Arab style.
Close to the airport, the fort has been extensively renovated and presents a magnificent sight when illuminated at night."
Al Jasrah House - Bahrain History
Al Jasrah House is a fine example of traditional Bahraini architecture, distinguished by its external simplicity. It was constructed from local building materials, principally coral stone from the shallow sea-beds, gypsum, lime and clay. The trunk of date palm trees were used for strengthening both the outside and inside walls. The ceilings were made with materials from the date palm, bamboo reeds, rush mats and mangrove poles. All of these materials were readily available in the local markets.
